Well,

He is subscribed to Witango's DIGESTS, this is why he doesn't replies to everybody that answers, he only answers when a digest is being sent.

And guess what? I am almost convinced now that Digests are sent based on emails VOLUMES. This sounds logical: if an email is very long, the server doesn't wait for the end of the day to send a digest that would otherwise not be very ...digestable :-) So he prefers to send it straight away.

And since everybody answering to these emails (except me :-) leaves the entire thread in the mail itself, the server very quickly gets to the set volume limit and produces a digest....

So to avoid other messages, being by cutting the rest of the message when you answer :-)

Don't hesitate to comment if you think I'm wrong...tx!

it comes back to you? hes getting his own message and replying to it over
and over and over... :P

what im surprised about is that he isnt responding ad infinitum to the other
messages people are sending as well

What I'm trying to figure out is what kind of digest he's getting that
arrives every 20 minutes.

this is like some crazy word problem...

James went out of town for the weekend and auto-responds to
emails (including his own emails gotten from the witango
list) with a message saying he is out of town. If someone
other than James makes a post every 15 minutes and James has
his email auto-check and reply every 15 minutes, how long
will it take until James brings down the internet?
