The docs do say that, but when I tried to set this up a couple weeks
ago, the variableTimeout didn't seem to have any effect at all.  I'll
try the method below tomorrow evening & see what it does.

Please post if you get this working!

I'm still running T2000, but the docs are the same as far as I can see.
