Hi List, this is something that is commonly handled very badly by a load of sites. I don't understand it. It's not hard to do. Forms protected by a login should have a save button that saves a partial form completion and returns the user to the same page( or at least pings the server to keep the session alive). The page should then have a javascript timer, triggered onLoad, set to variableTimeout - 3, that prompts the user to save the page. For high security, the page can have a Refresh header, set to variableTimeout + 1. When the server gets the request for a login protected page from a login expired user, it sends back a please login page, clearing login protected data from the screen of the absent already warned user. Really not complicated.
Any takers?
