I know that in SQL Server 2000 the max length of varchar is 8000 characters.
However, some older odbc connection applications, such as Tango 4, appear to
still maintain the Sql Server 6.5 limit of 256 characters. Is there a way
around this, or is this solved in Witango 5?
Also, what is the best online searchable version of the mail list archives?
