Hi List, glad you liked the article Scott. I can see what you're saying. I suppose we are more prone disagree about means than ends.
On the subject of point-to-point v. broadcasting, has everyone seen Andrew Odlyzko's "Content is not King". It's a couple of years old now, but brilliant. The argument is that there is a longstanding prejudice in favour of 'content', but connectivity is what people want, and ultimately are prepared to pay for. He quotes a historian of US Postal service: "In 1832, newspapers generated no more than 15 percent of total postal revenues, while making up as much as 95 percent of the weight". http://www.firstmonday.dk/issues/issue6_2/odlyzko/#John Well that's it from me. I have no other interesting links. Regards Simon. -- _______________________________________________ Get your free email from http://www.graffiti.net Powered by Outblaze ________________________________________________________________________ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text/US ASCII email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe witango-talk in the message body
