I think the cache is treated like a drive if someone is in a read operation that file is not affected

So, all the files that are cached and not being used are cleared (during the purge) and the server waits for an opening to clear the stragglers

From the docs…

Once a file is put into the cache, it is retrieved from the cache until that file is purged from the cache. No timestamp checking is performed when a cached file is referenced; that is, if you put a new version of an application file or included file on the Web server while Witango Server is running and the cache is on, the cached copy of the file continues to be used until the cache is explicitly purged or Witango Server is restarted.

This is the only hint of timing I can find in the manual

I am hoping someone in the With Support/Dev. community might step in here Wink! Wink!

I was just wondering if purging the cache would wait til all requests had been done or if it would do it right away so there was a chance of changing the code under a persons feet so to speak mid request.

The chances are low of this happening but i was just curious :P

I think your confusing purges & caches.

The variables are not affected by <@PURGECACHE>

That purge is for the whole taf/include

What might happen is that you new .taf miss interprets what was in the variable prior

hello, i was wondering something about the purge cache tag.

Does it wait for all request to finish before it clears the cache or does it just clear it right away?

Im wondering cause if I have changed a file significantly and caught a user mid stride with a purge cache, could there be some issues w/ old variables (local scope) inside new code?  Or maybe with new code w/o the new variables if they were past the action that defined the vars when it cleared the cache?

Thanks for the info!

Atrix
