I think the cache is treated like a drive if someone is in a read operation that file is not affected So, all the files that are cached and not being used are cleared (during the purge) and the server waits for an opening to clear the stragglers
From the docs… Once a file is put into the cache, it is retrieved from the cache until that file is purged from the cache. No timestamp checking is performed when a cached file is referenced; that is, if you put a new version of an application file or included file on the Web server while Witango Server is running and the cache is on, the cached copy of the file continues to be used until the cache is explicitly purged or Witango Server is restarted. This is the only hint of timing I can find in the manual

I was just wondering if purging the cache would wait til all requests had been done or if it would do it right away so there was a chance of changing the code under a persons feet so to speak mid request.
The chances are low of this happening but i was just curious :P
