After doing some testing. I have found that the Output tab/Name: will only take static names
I set the name to <@VAR dynamicname> in this test (also tried @@dynamicname) Notice the debug below (last line) Instead of the last array reference being “MyDynamicName=” it is “<@VAR dynamicname>=”

Since the name option is hard coded to return request scope Have you tried it without the scope
Assign the var <@ASSIGN request$dynamicname VALUE=MyDynamicName>
in the output tab of the search action place @@dynamicname
