Yes,

At the database end, if the itembuffersize is too large, then you'll be
sending larger data chunks. On a local network, this is ideal. However, over
the internet the buffersizes should be kept average in case of larger
amounts of traffic. On a LAN, you know what your maximum traffic will be.
