I run unixODBC 2.2.3-6 on Redhat 9 on my server. But I could never get unixODBC to compile on OSX for my dev system. It was always looking for a library (libmysqlclient.so ??? -- don't remember) even after installing mysql, first from package, then from source distribution.
I spent more than 40 hours on this (don't remind how foolish it is to perform unnatural acts for cash), before I finally bought the Openlink driver.
