Update  -  

There does seem to have been some odd sort of file corruption, in that
opening & saving the file without making any changes fixed the problem.

However, I just discovered that a coworker made changes to this taf on
Monday, "just to add a couple things he needed".  So the errors didn't
just happen out of nowhere, they were probably caused by his changes.

That's not nearly as worrisome.  :^)

Well, at least I've not lost all of my marbles.

I think there's only a few more burning hoops and swaying highwires to
get through before I can upgrade.  In the meantime, I just keep patching
things up.  :)
