We had to uninstall the app server and re-install when we had a similar problem, also on Win2k and out of the blue. It was a breeze to uninstall and re-install - we just kept a copy of our ini file and replaced it after the re-install.

It didn't solve the problem because the problem wasn't with Witango5 - it was a win 2k problem, sounds a lot like what you're having.

Issue was related to an IWAM user account password mismatch. Essentially meant that at last
polling interval password did not replicated to all processes. Why? Don't have a clue. System generated password which can not be changed from the user end had to run and adsutil to force replication.

maybe this is what happened with you.

Wow

Uninstalling the app server is really a big deal. It was never easy on my
end when I had to do it. I bet that toook you a while.
Glad your problems are gone.

Really? We've added the patches and rebooted and it still didn't work. We
uninstalled and reinstalled WiTango and it seems to be working now.

Suddenly this afternoon, IIS generates a 500 error (HTTP 500 - Internal
server error ) on every third(!) click on my WiTango applications.
Hitting
refresh brings the expected page up, but two clicks later it generates
an
error. The event log shows the following when this happens:

'Out of process application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT' terminated unexpectedly.
'

WiTango makes no new log entries when the error appears. Rebooting has
no
 effect. I'm running W2K SP3, IIS5, and WiTango 5.0.1.054. Two other
similar servers are unaffected. The machine is hidden behind our
firewall
and unavailable to the outside world (in theory :-)

Any ideas?

The latest patch for this latest bug (worm) seems to have fixed mine
