If ODBC is using TCP/IP then yes it will using a port, I still have some
using netbios.

for instance the ODBC Driver for Sybase SQLAnywhere will connect on
TCP/NETBIOS/IPX protocols and it is definable by the server admin.

I believe that the MS-SQL Port is 1433

I believe it will connect on whatever port your DBMS/DSN specifies. For
instance, I believe MS-SQL defaults to 4333, but you can set up a
server on 5000, and your DSN must reflect that.
