4.0 and 4.5 editors. The editor will "forget" my username and password
values, and I'll have to re-enter them. In my case, it doesn't happen
with every datasource, but it happens a lot with particular ones. It's
very annoying.
Someday I would love to upgrade to a fairly bug free 5.x editor...

I found the solution to my problem, but not the original cause. A couple of things that I noticed when looking around. In the environment.plist, there were entries for <key>ODBCINI</key> and <key>ODBCINSTINI</key> which both had an incorrect path (but the same path in both) in there values. I'm not sure if it had been changed to cause this problem or not. When I made a change to the path and then relaunched the Dev Studio, the problem still existed.
What appeared to have fixed the problem was when I went into the data source properties in the Dev Studio. I normally have the 'Ask Each Time' checkbox turned off. I was about to turn it on so I could manually re-enter the username and password for each data source but before I made any changes, I noticed that the number of 'dots' to hide the password was not the same as the number of characters in that password. So I simply re-entered the password and the data source loaded up correctly.
I had to do the same to all of my data sources and when I did, they all began working again. Any ideas as to why this would happen to every data source? I have not changed the passwords on the database server and they were working fine 24 hours ago.
I'd like to know if anyone has experienced similar problems and if so, does With know about this?
Please let me know.

Steve Smith

All of a sudden, my ODBC data sources cannot be opened in the Dev Studio. Is this a case of a corrupted ODBCConfig.plist file and if I just remove it, will the Dev Studio recreate a new one for me? Or is there something else that I should be looking at?
Please let me know.
