It is a matter of setting up a DSN via TCP as opposed to your
usual direct connections on the server. Simply create a new DSN which
points to the IP address of the other server and set the appropriate
port for whichever database you are using (see your manual for what
port it talks on). If the other server server is behind a firewall you
are going to have to allow requests on that database port.
Within the taf there is no difference - you still point to the
named datasource as you normally do - you may want to work with a
local datasource of the same name for development to simplify matters,
or you can set up a separate development datasource and a deployment
datasource - Witango allows you to do that.

Garth
how would you go about setting up a datasource that was on another server from where the datasource was being used by a .taf?
i have no idea where to even begin looking for information on this one! (:
we're using r:tango 5 on windows 2003 and the database is going to be on an NT 4 machine which has r:tango 2000 on it (so both sides have oterro if that matters).
We're trying to set up an experiment to see how realistic it would be to have a database on another computer across the internet (im guessing not very realistic but maybe for limited usage it would work?)
Thanks!
Alan
