Hi Marc,

Seems you're have a PSQL problem. I haven't been following this thread all the way through, but this email caught my attention.

Obviously the client isn't connecting to the server. Ensure the following things:

1. The default TCP port is 1583. It seems you've changed that port. Try changing the port back to 1583, and see if it works.
2. In your server configuration settings under Communication protocols, ensure you have Winsock TCP/IP as your ODBC Connection Manager support.
3. "TCP/IP Multihomed" is OFF, unless you've specified a "Listen IP Address"
4. Microsoft TCP/IP is in your list of "Supported Protocols".
5. You should install Service Pack 4.

Hi Brendt,

Thanks again for the help.

I do not use SPX protocol so I don't know why it gives this error. Server and client use TCP/IP on port 1536. Maybe there's a port conflict? After installing service pack 3(P.SQL 2000i) this is the new message I get:

[Pervasive][ODBC Client Interface][Client LNA]Connection attempt timed out.  The SQL Connection Manager may be inactive or using a different transport protocol from the client.

How would you force the SQL Connection Manager to be active?

If anyone has ever had these problems, please reply!

Thanks!

Hi Marc !

Its seems to be a problem with the SPX protocol on the server. Do you need SPX on the Windows server ?
If not try to take it away from the communication protocols in the
Control Center and restart the service.

Not sure what you mean with the SQL Data manager Tool is it a Pervasive tool ?

I also recommend to update to at least SP3 on the Pervasive.SQL 2000.

Any idea why the "SQL data manager tool" would not be installed.

The 10-21-2003 was the installation date.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Marc !

We still use Pervasive.SQL 2000 in many applications. Not for Witango but others.
Error 3020 stands for:
3020: An error occurred while loading the MicroKernel

You receive this status code when an error occurs while loading the MicroKernel or when access to the server and client machine shared memory objects are unavailable. Check the Pervasive Event Log (PVSW.LOG) for more information.

What do you see in the logfile ?
Try to use the Maintenance tool on the server and try to open a Pervasive file and see what happens.

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you were still using the Pervasive SQL 2000 database. I'm getting this error while doing a test connection in ODBC.

[Pervasive][ODBC Engine Interface][Data Record Manager] An error ocurred while loading the MicroKernel(Btrieve Error 3020).

Also in the Pervasive control center I cannot use the SQL data manager tool even if I try to add it through the custom tools properties.

Any ideas?

This install was done using Tango2000 Application Server (service pack 1) disc on a windows 2000 server OS.

Thanks!
