This thread finally got my attention. I have a print-on-demand system 
that generates XHTML documents with CSS2.  The URLs of the pages to be 
printed are essentially

http://domain.com/viewdoc.taf?_uid=docid

I just checked and verified that the pages print from win98SE/IE6 with 
latest updates from Microsoft, going to an Apple LaserWriter attached to 
a Linux Samba server.

I don't have any other MS systems available.  If you want to try, I'll 
give you a loginid.  Perhaps there is something in the HTML.  Have you 
tried grabbing source of the problem pages and validating them with Tidy?
