Hey everyone,
I just stumbled on something really really
neat.
I found a page that gives extensive information on
browser parasites (spyware/addware etc), which is ok, but whats really neat is
the person who made this page has some _javascript_ that you can include in your
pages to scan a person's computer for these parasites. He keeps the
_javascript_ up to date so if you link to the js file on his server, it works much
like an anti-virus program, where it stays current w/ automatic updates
(;
heres the main page (it scans you when you go there
and prints out the results):
heres the page with the script you can
use:
Since spyware/addware can make browsers unstable,
causing errors from dropped args and such, i figured we all could benefit from
this tool, especialy since all errors usualy end up reflecting on us, whether
it's our fault or not.
Great stuff, hope you guys find it as useful as we
do.
