As far as I know it will be based on JDBC or ODBC so you will have to wait for that. I don't think That apple Events will be the way to connect but I guess you would have to wait for word from Phil.
Since there is no compelling reason to go to seven if you are using a client to server web stuff I would not think witango would put resources into this area, but I could be wrong.
