I'd guess there was a tag that wasn't closed or something like that. In all the tinkering, you may have taken care of it.

I did a Nortons Disk Doctor and Speed Disk session late last night.
Didn't pick up any major errors, and the fragmentation was only 0.5%, but it
does seem to be fixed for now.
