Witango-Talk: Converting to hexadecimal - Additional Problem

I try to check my selfmade hex-routine with <@CALC>, but does not work with
variable....

i use

<@CALC EXPR='num(0x@@request$hex)'>

and i get the following errorcode:
 Class: Internal
 Main Error Number: -18


 Error during expression evaluation.
 Closing bracket missing in statement [num(0x

)]
