Hi,

In my experience running mail servers you can adjust the times that the
mail server waits for smtp connection and authentication. It depends on
the mail server demand.

Factors on the receiving mail server
1. Load
2. IP checks with open relay list.
3. Internal spam blacklists checks

I have had to set the timers to 2 minutes on smtp communication.

Your best bet is to setup a relay server local and have Witango send the
email to the relay server and let that server deal with the waits and
multiple retries.

IMHO ;-)

I believe the RFC guidelines are to wait 30 seconds for each command.
Perhaps it is 2 minutes for clients, however, I think Witango uses the
datasourcelife for this timer.

Is there a timeout variable for controlling how long the mail action
waits to
send an SMTP eMail message. We had a few issues last week which took a
little over 5 minutes before completing, and I was wondering if this can
be
controlled.
