Hello --
- an update about my troubles ...

- I have tried with multiple SuSE distribution (I *must* to use SuSE)
but I'm unable to resolv segmentation fault loading Apache2
- I have setup environment variable LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 [and also
2.2.5] without any chance for me, but I'm very doubt about the fact taht
my SuSE distribution is using NPTL

- Please note that's is *very* simple to reproduce my big issue
- Install a SuSE 9.0 Pro [15'] with Apache2 [2.0.47.]
- Install WiTango 5.0.1.065
- Configure WiTango plug-in in httpd.conf
- When you restart Apache2 with WiTango module, there are immediately
segmentation fault in error.log
- Without witango module all is working nicely!

- I'm pretty sure that wapache2.so modules are compiled with libraries
that doesnt match my glibc SuSE environment

- I have *also* tried [on three different SuSE box!] with a combination
of Apache 1.3, Apache 2.x, but there is SAME problem, also with Apache
1.3 and relative wapache.so module

- I confirm that, for my knowledge, SuSE Professional 9.0 doesnt use
NPTL [please see below, and If I'm wrong, please reply] but 'old'

Alex,
Witango 5.0 was built on the 2.4 kernel. Try disabling the Native
Posix Thread Library (NPTL). NPTL has replaced the Linux Thread
Library in the post 2.4 kernels but you can load the old thread library

by setting the following environment variable in the startup
script/init.d script.

LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

I am pretty sure that SuSE 8 back ported NPTL and it is standard in
SuSE 9. The Witango Server 5.5 will be built on a 2.6 kernel and will

use the NPTL.
