Why using a bridge adaptor instead of using JDBC direct.
iODBC as far as i know, works as follows
Client->iODBC->JDBC......................JDBC->ODBC Database
Long time ago i tried tio use iODBC to connect, but it is easier to connect to mysql.
You can find Infos at http://www.apocm.de/witango/ for mysql and OpenBase

Thanks again. I will follow your instructions.
One last question, though, will clear things up for me: what do I use the
installed iodbc for if I can't use it to connect to my MySQL database?
Peter -
You still need to install the required ODBC driver for the DSN that you
are
creating. You mentioned that you wanted to connect to a mySQL database and
I
would presume that you would need to download and install the mySQL ODBC
driver before you can create a mySQL DSN.
Jonah Simpson posted a guide to setting up mySQL, ODBC and Witango a few
months back which may or may not help depending on what you are trying to
achieve. If you search the archives on the Witango website using the
keywords ODBC;10.3.5 you will find it.

Thanks very much for the info.
However, Iodbc is already installed, the Tango installation guide
implies
that I can use iodbc to connect to data sources so I thought that it was
only necessary to point to the iodbc driver in the ODBC Manager to
create
a DSN to my MySQL database.
Am I wrong?

locatedDownload the mySQL ODBC driver for Mac OSX from http://www.serverlogistics.com/mysql.php. Edit the odbc.ini filein /Applications/Library/ODBC/odbc.ini to specify your DSNs.

Thanks in advance for your help.
