hi, I'm here at MacWorld Expo, saw the Keynote address, Steve hit the high
points. More on the iPod shuffle, which is a flash-based iPod, there's two
of them, 512MB at $99 and 1GB at $149, which is supposedly more memory for
less money than the rest of the competition for flash MP3 players. It's
very cool, simple to operate, and instead of running on AA batteries, it
has a rechargeable battery, charged by plugging it into a USB port on your
computer, Mac or PC.

iLife includes new versions of iPhoto, iDVD and iMovie. iWork has two
components, pages, a desktop publishing-type of word processor, and
Keynote2, new version of the presentation software.

MacMini does look like the cube cut in half, or maybe a bit less than
half, both models offer only a Combo drive, not a Superdrive, the bigger
difference in the price points is that the cheaper only has a 40 GB hard
drive, while the more expensive has an 80 GB. You also can't add memory
yourself, sealed box requires a dealer to do it, so Apple says; and since
it only comes with 256 MB RAM, but running Panther, the first thing you're
going to want is more memory.

Anyone else attending the Expo? I'm in the Mac IT conference the next 3 days.
