It's not in the file, since the <PASSWORD></Password> is closed with no contents.

I think its an MD5 hash (difficult to reverse unless you know somebody at NSA) when stored in the file.

When I've had this problem, I put cleartext username and password in the DataSource stanza of the taf, and then change the username/ password in the database to match.

I have a tango app that I wrote against an R:base database a few years ago.

I can not remember the password for the database.

I know it is stored in the Tango Taf file.

Does anyone know how I can figure out this password that is in the UserName
field?

<DataSource ID="amphi">

                  <DSType>ODBC</DSType>

                  <DSN>amphi</DSN>

                  <DBMS />

                  <Host>amphi</Host>

                  <Database />

                  <UserInfo Encrypted="True">

                        <UserName>%3E%AB%D5%84%ECA%C7%96</UserName>

                        <Password />

                  </UserInfo>

            </DataSource>
