Witango-Talk: Mac OSX Server 5.5 or jdbc error

We are doing some complex searches in our application and when  
testing them under odbc and Server 5.0.x they work fine.  However on  
another machine, running server 5.5.x and jdbc, we get the following  
error:
Message1: Operand should contain 1 column(s)

Has anyone seen this before?  Any idea if it is the server or a jdbc  
thing?
