I know the userref arg was not part of the original question, but I feel compelled to add:

userreference arguments in the URL are BAD BAAAAAD, and it's a good thing if robots dont capture them. One scenario for shared user sessions is a directory or search engine that has a link WITH the userref arg it in. Two people hit that and have their cookies off, they will end up in the same session. You don't want to do this. Really. Evil, Bad.

As far as how many arguments google will capture, I have a few sites in which google has efficiently captured all the pages with three arguments. Just as long as they can get to those pages by normal html links, not postargs, buttons, search dialogs, etc. ________________________________________________________________________
