I have to admit that I've always used JDBC with OS X - seems to be quite a bit safer.... No problems encountered with Witango dev studio with Oracle or MySQL. (Well, other than an occasional crash but for some reason that hasn't been happening as often, so I think that the latest versions of OS X have been addressing issues that Witango had no control over....)

ODBC still seems to be in a state of flux, and therefore you're kind of at the mercy of Apple there...

I have to do some testing with mySQL. I have mysql 5.0.18 running great on a fedora server.

I can connect using my actual technologies OS X odbc drivers through MS Excel, RealBasic, and even import into filemaker using ODBC.

I can connect with sqlgrinder through JDBC no problem.

I can connect with witango on pc, no problem.

When I try to connect with mac dev studio through odbc, with actual, I see the loading window, then it crashes right away.

When I try to connect with mac dev studio through odbc, with mysql 3.51 drivers, it crashes, even before the loading window.

I am running witango dev 5.5.008, os x 10.4.5, patched. iODBC 3.52.4.

Anyone else having these issues with mysql and mac dev studio? I saw roland mention some issues.

NOTE: I also deleted my object cache AND witango preferences, JIC.
