Dan No problem from windows. Are you sure it is not a timestamp? I searched

COLUMN 9 is a date field %d.%m.%Y

I also tested a 350000 record database and searched for a date field with no
problem either. You can contact me off line if you want more info or need
help. I only did windows testing.

I gave up on JDBC and am now connecting via ODBC ...

The main problem I have now is that any dates fields seem to cause an
SQL error when searching. If I change the date fields to text
 everything is OK.

Has anyone been able to search on date fields with Filemaker 8
 Advanced Server and Witango 5.0?

For now I have created a calculation field that I can use to sort by:
 Year ( insert_date ) & "-" & Month ( insert_date ) & "-" & Day (
 insert_date )

(Witango server - MacOSX Server 10.3.9)

 cheers,

 dan

Dan is there a reason you can't use ODBC? At least I have seen that one work although then you will want 10.4 or at least to install the latest drivers.

So far no takers on people using JDBC from the FSA list I'll try my FMI SE
see if he has any ideas.

  Dan,

I will try and get you definitive install instructions. I think you will
find this would work better on 10.4x but I will check for you.

Great - looking forward to that.

As I have said before this is all much much easier to do on a Windows box then Mac. You FMSA comes with both licenses so you should at least think
  about it.

The setup speed and functionality is just plain better on windows Server
  2003

I have no choice but to use the MacOS X 10.3.9 server at the moment
and we only have a Mac Witango server license.

  Cheers,

   Hi,

I am trying for the first time to connect to Filemaker 8 Server
Advanced via JDBC. Testing with MacOS X 10.4.5 client but I will
deploy on 10.3.9 Server. I have installed the JDBC Client Driver
   into "/Library/Java/Extensions/".

I get a "No suitable driver" error message.

   Any ideas?

   Thanks,

   Dan
