I run my apache server with host name lookups off. Consequently <@CGIPARAM> will return the IP address, but not the host name, since that environment variable is available.

Recently I've had the desire to to the reverse lookup within Witango. It looks like I need to invoke the shell to use dig, or something equivalent, and then parse the results.

Maybe in version 6 I can just use a perl module from CPAN and avoid spawning a process. But for now, does anyone have any good ideas?

Maybe an <@UDP PORT="portnumber|portname" PAYLOAD="text"> tag could be in our future?
