yes, com objects are different. But NON-COM dlls, are what I was referring to.

Also, I have noticed that 5.5 has broken the ability to work with many coms. com objects on witango are hit and miss. Some work, and some don't.

Also, I believe witango confirmed on this list that they consider com- objects a dead technology, which, frankly it is, so I don't see them spending a lot of time to make coms work better.

The best bet is a bean. However, there is a LOT of documentation lacking from witango regarding the bean interface.

Hey Robert,

Witango in my experience can call most com objects, if a dll has standard
com interfaces, witango can call it.

I am pretty sure that the design is not specific to witango, i have lots of com objects in use today that were not designed with witango in mind.

p.

Witango cannot call any dll, it can only call dlls built to a
specific specification, just for witango.

Hi,

We just purchased a text summarization source code (ansi C) with
compiled .dlls. The web demo that came with it uses Apache Web
Server and ActiveState Perl. I would like to use the dll with
Witango. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to access the dll
in Witango. The dll does not appear in the Witango add object
window. If not, I am going to have to take a crash course in perl.
