Problem with setting up Load balancing ODBC Conflict.
I have two Tango 2000 machines that I have set up on the Same Network
for load balancing but can't
seem to figure out how to get the two machines to use just one database.
Here is the setup:
Server #1
Dell 1600SC (Single CPU) 1.25GB Ram 2800Mhz (192.168.1.102)
OS: Windows Server 3 Enterprise IIS6 (running)
Tango2000 (set up and running) Unique License #
Database :Rbase v6-7 (ODBC points to local C:\Database\Events.RB1 File)
Server #2
Dell 420SC (Single CPU) 1.25GB Ram 3200Mhz (192.168.1.104)
OS: Windows Server 3 Enterprise IIS6 (running)
Tango2000 (set up and running) Unique License #
Database :Rbase v6-7 (ODBC points to local C:\Database\Events.RB1 File)
INI FILES:
T4Server.ini
VALIDHOSTS=192.168.1.102:192.168.1.104
T4Client.INI
[t4iis.dll]
TANGO_SERVER=192.168.1.102,18100:192.168.1.104,18100
The machines do in fact perform the load balancing. Ok fine to this point.
The main database is on Server #1. I want both machines to access the
database files on server #1.
When load balancing is in effect, the Server #2 tries to access its
own (local C:) database files. I can only set up Server #2 ODBC to
use its own local database files
and not the ones on server #1. No amount of Drive mapping, UNC file
mapping or other trickery seems to allow me to access (from ODBC) the
database files on Server #1
By the way, I can open the database files on server #1 all day long
from server #2 using the Rbase data manager and run queries, etc.
Well I am sure I am missing something obvious.
Basically what I want is to load balance the two Tango 2000 servers
so that if server #1 is busy server #2 could process a Tango2000 request.
I want to make sure that only the one database on server #1 is
accessed. I think this is possible. Isn't that how load balancing is
supposed to work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
