Thanks for your help. I was googling realtime stock quotes and not
getting what I wanted. So thanks. I have a ton of information now to
work through and make happen. This is going to be fun.

I entered "AJAX Stock Quote" in google and got this on first page

you are needing a web service (simply a TAF that does some work and
returns its result in XML)
This is where Roland's reply to this thread needs to be placed
AJAX is just the mechanism to do the work in the background to do
page updates without having to do a refresh

information and have it return to my app? I have been googling
trying to find something that works with mac and so far found
nothing. If I have to use some kind of windows API, I am ok with
that. Just wonder if anyone can get me started?
