Assuming you're already tailing the witango log and want to see what's happening with IM,

edit log.xml to change <log output="console" /> to <log output="file" />
and <log events="None" /> to <log events="all" />

Then you can tail Magick.log, or whatever you choose to name it (also in this file).

How big are the files? Maybe you're running into some other issue with the apache environment. If so perhaps you could use mod_deflate so gzip compatible browsers could negotiate to compress the content.
