I took the plunge on my servers. I put in my test server, and I
didn't notice anything break, after trying hard. One thing to note,
there is a noticeable speed improvement in the server over 5.5009. I
don't have any conclusive data, but it was noticeable. Maybe in the
15% range or so? Just a guess. Maybe others can share their experience.
The main reason I upgraded was due to the purgecache bug, and the
utf-8 cipher. It may come in handy, although we are almost done
moving all to php.
So, if you haven't upgraded to 5.5.020, I recommend for the speed alone.
On a side note, make sure you backup your witango configuration
folder, on my test server, it was maintained, on my production
servers, all the ini files were overwritten with defaults.
