Yes, very straight-forward.

Your system for dns shoud be able to accomodate an additional "A" record,
into which you add the IP address and point the sub-domain.

Subject: Witango-Talk: Sub Domain

Hi all!!!

I should know the answer to this but I don't.

Can I have a sub domain pointing to a different server than the base domain?

www.basedomain.com point to one server and
newserver.basedomain.com point to a completely different server.

If so, then I must not know how to set this up in the DNS because somehow I
can't make this work.

Should it be straight forward?
