Thank you for your reply. However I believe the solution should be on the client side.
In your example, data is saved if "submit" or lost if "link". The user is not given an option. In the case of "link", of course data can be saved on the server, another page generated to ask the user, and then, based on user's response, a decision can be taken (save or lose).
