Steve,
This is how our rack is set up, and that was done by the network
management guys that handle all of the New England Patriots stuff, so
if they're OK with it, I am too. We do the same - one NIC with a
public address going to one segment on a switch behind the firewall,
and the other NIC with internal address going through a separate
segment on the switch for an entirely private 'back end' network.
