As many of you know, I do lots of work on large consumer driven
sights, where cross browser compatibility is a MUST. I feel safe to
say, that IE on the mac is dead, and doesn't need to be considered.
Our current test suite is:
ff 1+
IE 5.5-7
Safari 2+
We have found with that suite, everything just works. Occasionally we
get an IE 5 issue, and we have to retest with it, but IE5.5 is very
close, and its very rare. The biggest problem in this mix has been IE 7.
Also I have stated before, in our experience, if you build/develop
against FF2, you will probably have the easiest time bringing your
code around when you do your compatibility testing with all of them.
IMHO, if you want to be compatible with all of the above, don't start
with safari or IE (especially IE 7), you will kick yourself in the
butt later.

Subject: Re: Witango-Talk: IE 5 test
Mac IE browsers don't operate the same was as they do on PC.
In general they are WAYYY buggier and total pains in the ass, I once
was on a project that involved mac ie browser using clients and we
had
nothing but trouble and 99% of the time we were able to conclusively
find the cause of the problem to be mac IE.
We had all sorts of crashes, slowdowns and malfunctions where the
browser sent the wrong or incomplete data from form posts and
things...nothing but headaches.
MS stopped developing IE for mac, I think they realized they were
never going to get it right and gave up haha :P
