What you need to do to get everything up and running will differ depending on the OS, your database connection, (and in the case of the Mac, the chipset and OS version). For example, there are issues using the Mac Developer Studio on the Intel chipset. (No JDBC connection.)

I submitted a longish "How to" on getting the Witango server to run on Mac OS X on Intel, 10.5. It should be in the archives. In addition to that, you need to be sure you have the right database connections set up as per your requirements. We use JDBC on the Mac and therefore just need to drop the drivers into /Library/Java/Extensions and we're done.

Be sure to save all your config files and copy them over as well. They may still need tweaking, but at least you'll be a lot closer.

On Windows, we have really wrestled, mainly due to problems relating to Windows and its love-hate thing with Java since we use JDBC. If you use ODBC, you won't have any issues there. There was a recent post re the correct version of the Java SDK to use, if you do wish to use JDBC.

It's been years, and these old computers are being decommissioned and replaced. Can someone refresh me on what needs to be done to transfer a Witango 5.5 Server license from an old server to a new one, and also to move Dev Studio from a 5-year-old laptop to a new one? Thanks.
