I had made a similar request some time ago (about 2 years) and so far nothing concrete as far as doing a web service connection only using WiTango.
I do have a few tafs I was working on that connect successfully to a web service and bring back data. The problem is parsing the data the is posted back from @URL. It can be done, but it is very long and cumbersome. You have to convert the data to a DOM, then parse the DOM object into actual readable and usable data. I can share the tafs with you if you like.
