On November 5, 2008 8:47:23 PM EST I'd asked the list if anyone had an experience getting Witango Server to work on Windows Server 2008.

For information, I have got the following combination to work on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition SP1:
 - Witango Server v5.5.20.0
 - Apache v2.2.10 with the mod_witango55_apache22.so module
 - MySQL ODBC Connector v5.1.5
 - MySQL Server v5.0.67

Applying the regular Witango Server installer on Windows 2008 brings up the error dialog 'This version on Windows is not supported'.

To get around this problem, I copied Witango Server files and registry entries from an existing Windows 2000 Server installation - specifically:
 - the c:\Program Files\WitangoServer\ folder and sub-folders and files
 - the registry entries for Witango
and added a copy of
msvcr71.dll
in c:\windows\system32\
(Using 'Process Explorer' <http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx > you can see that mod_witango55_apache22.so calls this dll both at c: \Program Files\WitangoServer\ and c:\windows\system32\)
