Wayne,

Just answering your question as to possible database corruption via an external
action to make a directory: I find it extremely difficult to believe that those
two very separate routines could collide. In fact I would be very confident in
saying that your problem lies elsewhere.

I can't really speak to your corruption problem because the software you list
is not supported anymore. It could be anything.

Subject: Witango-Talk: FileMaker crashing/corrupting databases

I run any number of tafs under 4DWebStar 5.4.0 and Kerio WebStar 5.4.2 talking
to loads of FileMaker (6.0v4 believe it or not) databases on OSX and they give
me very little trouble.

Recently I have been having instances of a database crashing FileMaker and on
restart the database is more often than not corrupted. FileMaker has a nice
Recover command so no great loss but it's not a great way to run.

At first I thought it was a memory error. I upgraded the server from 1.5Gb to
3Gb. No difference.

The server it is occurring on is 4D WebStar 5.4.0. One plan might be to upgrade
to 4D WebStar 5.4.1 or Kerio WebStar 5.4.2. Anyone have the 4D WebStar 5.4.1
updater? I have the Kerio 5.4.2.

Another peculiarity in this taf is an external action. I am calling a script
and passing it an argument to create a folder/directory. Does anyone have any
experience with the External action causing this sort of issue?
