Hello WIT Area,

The CoRE WG focuses on application protocols that enable constrained nodes to participate, in particular the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP). CoRE met on Wednesday, for a 2-hour session.

Procedurally, 2 documents are with the RFC Editor, 1 is in IESG review, 2 wait for the Shepherd write-up, and 4 have completed their WG Last Call.

Presented WG items included the following topics: advancing the remaining documents of the CORECONF cluster; Concise Resource Identifiers (CRIs) as compact equivalent of URIs; a proposal for Discovery of Network-Designated Resolvers supporting DNS over CoAP; use of proxies for one-to-many group communication with CoAP; topics related to the OSCORE security protocol (RFC 8613), as to its use at proxies and for nested message protection, and on updating OSCORE keying material (KUDOS protocol) and OSCORE identifiers.

Individual submissions were also presented, as to non-traditional forms of CoAP response messages and extensions to the CoRE Resource Directory (RFC 9176). New individual submissions were also presented, concerning the use of CoAP in space and particularly considering CoAP transported over the Bundle Protocol (BP).

CoRE will resume its biweekly interim meetings on 2024-04-10.

Best,
/Marco
