The AVTCORE working group continues its maintenance of RTP and related work.
At IETF 122, we'll discuss an adopted document that maps RTP onto QUIC to use it as a new transport method. In the same realm, potentially new work will be presented regarding necessary extensions to SDP to set up sessions with RTP over QUIC. Other adopted documents extend RTP to carry haptic signals (e.g. to let actuators vibrate) and volumetric video (i.e. 3D instead of 2D video). New ideas that will be presented at the meeting are automatic corruption detection, new codec-agnostic messages for requesting and sending LTR feedback, transmission of 3D mesh data over RTP, and payload formats for transmitting Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec bitstreams.
