I'm going through it carefully again, because I think using stretch
factors alone is a work round at best.

At the very least I think there may be one bug.

The minimum size is ignored if the stretch factor is not 0. The
maximum size seems to also be ignored.

This *MAY* be the root cause of other issues.

So looking at the JaveScript in StdGridLayoutImpl.C.

I can't really understand it - but is the line 127

         ""       "h=Math.round(mh[i]>h?mh[i]:h);"

Checking for the min height - and is it that afterwards the stretch
factor is applied. I.e. should the min height be looked at after the
stretch factor is applied (to make the item bigger if need be? This
code is applied only if there is a stretch factor so I may be looking
at the right place!

I can't see the equivalent min width functionality?

Basically I am not sure what I am looking at!
