Dear Hilary,

That is true. We personally like postgresql better than MySql, but we
had the impression that MySql is more popular than PostgreSQL.
Additionally, someone contributed the MySql backend so we did not have
to put any effort in it :) It is very unfortunate that we cannot make
it a standard part of Wt, but we're looking for a solution to that
problem.
So PostgreSQL is feasible (both license-wise as technical), it is on
our wishlist, but there is not yet a formal planning to implement it.
