Personally, I want a SQL interface that I can tell it 'what' I want done, what data I want, operations, etc..., but without the SQL syntax (Boost.Proto?), and with it optimizing it for its specifically selected back-end, so it will do joins on the DB's where it gets the best speed from that, etc... and so forth.
