I'm suspecting maybe the boost library installed on the troublesome systems
is too old for Wt now ?

At least for the cmake part.

I would use 'ccmake' or another cmake gui, and manually enter the location
of the library.

eg.
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
ccmake ..

Then manually enter the location of boost_random.
