I've just committed a fixed for this, it will be in public git soon. Note that we introduced a new variable a while ago, WT_NO_BOOST_RANDOM, which should be set to ON if there is no boost.random library on your system. With the new patch, the default value for WT_NO_BOOST_RANDOM will be guessed instead of setting it to 'OFF'.
